In this day and age, there is a growing disconnect between farmer and consumer. More and more people don't have an understanding as to what goes into growing their food! We would like to change that.
Both of us were born and raised in Oxford County, growing up in the country surrounded by farming families. After we got married in 2019, we moved to a nice 1 acre property on the edge of Woodstock. We loved this place, it was our first home! However, we both felt that urge for something more. We dreamed of having a place out in the country where we could start a farm of our own.
So, after about a year of searching, we found the perfect property just outside Hickson, and in March 2022, we moved to our current home which we've lovingly dubbed WindRose Farm.
We believe in raising our chickens in the most natural setting possible, with the least amount of stress possible. By raising them from day-olds until they are ready to process, we have learned to appreciate that we need to give these animals the best quality of life possible. Raised locally, just outside of the small town of Hickson in southwestern Ontario, you're supporting not only responsible farming practices, but the local economy, investing in the future of your "area" instead of padding grocery store pockets, and we support local too! Our chicken feed is purchased from a family-owned local feed mill, and our chicks are hatched within just an hour from our farm. We are located in East Zorra-Tavistock Township, just outside of Hickson Ontario. You can pick up orders from the farm free of charge, or delivery to surrounding areas can be arranged for a small fee.
